Betty's Daughter Arts Collaborative is a community-based "arts in action" group based in New York City and Durham,NC. Established in 2005, Betty's Daughter activates art as a tool for self-actualization, transformation, and social action.
Betty's Daughter believes by "creating radical expressiveness in community" another world is possible and attainable through a multi-disciplinary and everyday performance of community collaboration and artistic practice.
As creative director, Ebony Noelle Golden, brings over a decade of experience as a cultural worker, practicing artist, organizer, educator, and arts administrator to Betty's Daughter. She is primarily responsible for crafting the Collaborative's vision.
To date, Betty's Daughter has created art, arts programming, and consulted an impressive roster of artists, non profits, community groups, and arts organizations based in Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC, Houston, TX, Richmond, VA, Orangeburg, SC, New York, NY, Durham, and Greensboro, NC.
Betty's Daughter welcomes new collaborations with community organizations, individuals, non profits, educational groups, CBOs, and arts collectives that work from a sound artistic, political and socially-progressive platform.
